Hon. Glen “FRMG HAWK” T. Domingo

Born on January 24, 1959, in Bago City, Negros Occidental, Glen Tamayo Domingo emerged as the eldest of three siblings in a family that instilled the values of hard work and resilience. Growing up in the heart of provincial life as a true “probinsyano,” Student Glen’s formative years were shaped by the dedication and sacrifices of his parents. His father, a skilled carpenter, and his mother, who juggled roles as a caregiver and an ice candy vendor, taught him the importance of commitment and integrity.
Driven by a desire for education and a better life, The young Glen’s parents sent him to Oton, Iloilo, for his secondary schooling, even as they faced financial challenges. With unwavering support from his family, Glen continued his educational journey at the Visayan Maritime Academy, where he pursued an associate degree in Marine Transportation from 1976 to 1979. The academy, then an all-male institution, provided a rigorous environment that honed his discipline and leadership skills. As a proud member of the Elite Marines Company and a silent driller practicing with the US-standard M1 Garand rifle, FRMG HAWK’s experiences in the academy laid the groundwork for his future.
Upon graduation, he embarked on his professional journey as a casual employee at the Philippine Port Authority in Pulupandan, earning just 8 pesos a day. His role evolved over time, leading him to the Engineering Division in Iloilo, where he took on various responsibilities—timekeeping, drafting, and administrative support—each contributing to his skillset and preparing him for greater challenges. By 1984, FRMG HAWK stepped into the role of Acting Terminal Operations Officer in Bacolod City, where he applied his academic knowledge to enforce the Port Rules and Regulations of the PPA. His implementation of policies, such as “no uniform, no entrance and clearance,” exemplified his commitment to maintaining standards.
Over his remarkable 42-year tenure with the Philippine Port Authority, Glen held numerous positions that allowed him to influence positive change within the organization. His dedication and leadership extended beyond the workplace; in December 2001, he joined the PGBI and was inspired by its objectives outlined in the CBL. Two years later, he was elected chapter chairman, fostering a culture of discipline and unity among members. His dedication led to his election as provincial chairman, overseeing 82 chapters within his jurisdiction. RMG HAWK’s leadership journey culminated at the 6th National Convention in Palo, Leyte, where he proudly represented his organization and forged connections with influential figures.
