Hon. Maria Lorenza “FRMG LOIS” T. Madriago: “The Ella Diplomat“
Hon. Maria Lorenza T. Madriago, widely known as FRMG LOIS, has emerged as a prominent figure in the Philippine GUARDIANS Brotherhood, Inc. (PGBI) since her appointment as Secretary-General in 2019.
With a steadfast commitment to upholding the values of camaraderie, service, and integrity, FRMG LOIS has been instrumental in promoting the organization’s mission and vision across the Philippines. Born and raised in the vibrant community of Isabela, Negros Occidental, FRMG LOIS developed a deep sense of community and service from an early age.
She pursued her education with dedication, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, which laid the groundwork for her future endeavors in leadership and advocacy. She further enhanced her qualifications by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Development Management and Governance from the University of Makati in 2013 and was a scholarship recipient of the Canadian International Development Agency’s Public Administration program. Sister LOIS’s professional journey is marked by a wealth of experience in public service and governance.
Notably, she served as the Secretary to the Sangguniang Bayan in the Local Government Unit of Isabela, Negros Occidental, from 1990 to 2020. Additionally, she held positions including the Secretary-General of the Philippine League of Secretaries to the Sangguniang (PLEASES) from 2013 to 2015 and Regional Secretary for RELEASES in Region VI, Western Visayas. Her scholarly efforts culminated in a significant study titled “Evaluation on the Effectiveness of Government Processes in the Municipality of Isabela, Negros Occidental,” where she conducted and defended her research, receiving an impressive rating of 1.2.
The esteemed Sister LOIS is also recognized as a Congressional Awardee as a Woman Leader, having been granted opportunities to attend international training programs on women’s leadership in various locations such as New York, USA; Cleveland, Ohio; Los Angeles, California; Singapore; Indonesia; and Malaysia between 2005 and 2011.
